If you work with WordPress, you may already be familiar with this. You install a plugin or theme update and then it happens: An error occurs – in theory, this can be anything from a display problem to a fatal PHP error that may result in a white screen of death.
To counteract this, you should set up a staging environment and test your updates and changes before applying them to your live environment. This can be done conveniently using a plugin or a separate installation on a subdomain.
Our licenses require a registered domain so that the software can be registered via the vendidero Helper. If you are currently still in the development phase, you may not yet have a fixed domain or are working locally. You can change, delete and/or add the stored domain in our license management at any time.
For permanent staging or development environments on subdomains, we have explicitly added whitelist entries so that you can also register our software on these subdomains, as long as the main domain is registered in the license data. In addition, all domains with the top-level domain .test, .local and .localhost can be used automatically:
- test.my-registered-domain.com
- staging.my-registered-domain.com
- stage.my-registered-domain.com
- dev.my-registered-domain.com
- my-shop.test
- my-shop.local
- my-shop.localhost
So you only need to have registered my-registered-domain.com in the license data and you can also install and register the software on the above-mentioned subdomains or above the whitelisted TLDs for development or test purposes.
