Packaging plays a crucial role in shipping processing. Packaging is also of great importance in Shiptastic for the (automatic) creation of shipments and labels. You should store the packaging you have available in the settings under Pick & Pack. After creating or saving the packaging, you can make additional configurations for the packaging using the edit icon in the right-hand column.
Note: Some packaging settings (e.g. configuration per shipping service provider, internal dimensions, etc.) can only be accessed via the advanced settings (Actions > Edit icon).

Here is a brief overview of the most important packaging components:
- Packaging type: e.g. cardboard box or letter
- Weight: The actual weight of the packaging
- Dimensions: Length, width and height of the packaging
- Internal dimensions: Useful so that the packaging algorithm can work more accurately.
- Load capacity: The maximum weight that the packaging can carry
- Shipping classes: Optionally restrict the availability of the packaging to certain shipping classes
- Shipping service provider: Select specific shipping service providers if the packaging should only be available to individual shipping service providers
Configuration per shipping service provider and zone

For shipping service providers that support an automatic connection via API, e.g. UPS, you can configure certain services on a per-packaging basis. This service is then automatically preselected or booked when the label is created. As Shiptastic is able to automatically determine the (suitable) packaging for a specific shipment, you can use these settings to configure the automatic creation of labels very individually.
