Shipping to pick-up stations

With Shiptastic, you can offer customers delivery to a pick-up station conveniently in the checkout. Shiptastic integrates the available pick-up stations near the customer via API (e.g. DHL).

If the respective shipping service provider, e.g. DHL (Packstation, DHL Paketshop) offers an API connection to pick-up stations, you can configure this for the respective shipping service provider under Shipping service provider > Select shipping service provider > Pick-up stations.

Integration into the block-based checkout

The new WooCommerce checkout is block-based, i.e. implemented via a Gutenberg block and has a significantly better UI compared to the conventional shortcode-based checkout. The selection of the pick-up station is embedded here after the selection of the shipping option.

Integration into the shortcode-based checkout

In the old, shortcode-based checkout, the selection of the pick-up station is offered directly at the corresponding address fields. Customers can conveniently activate delivery to a pick-up station and search for a suitable pick-up station nearby.

After selecting a pick-up station, the relevant address fields are fixed in the delivery address. Of course, the customer can also deactivate delivery to a pick-up station at a later date.

Adding a pick-up station at a later date

Of course, you can also change or save the pick-up station at a later date, e.g. if your customers make an input error. You can do this when editing the shipping address on the order edit page. The complete address of the pick-up station (e.g. Packstation 256) should be entered as the 1st address line. In addition, you should enter the internal number (e.g. 256) of the pick-up station in the Pick-up station field and, if necessary, the customer number for the pick-up.

If the pick-up station or pick-up station customer number fields are not offered to you when editing the shipping address, this may be due to the following reasons:

  1. The shipping service provider specified for the order does not support pick-up stations or the feature has been deactivated.
  2. The shipping service provider for this order could not be (correctly) determined. In this case, you should ensure that a shipping method is stored for the order to which the shipping service provider is assigned.
  3. This order is not eligible for shipping to a pick-up station – this may be in connection with the payment method stored, for example.
